This LP is a German release from a Turkish band, Kadri Ünalan Orkestrası featuring singer Lamia, who was the wife of the band leader Kadri Ünalan. Sung in English with mostly covers of American songs by artists such as James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, etc.
The band went 1967 to Europe and have released this album in 1969. The band members was Lamia Ünalan (Vocals), Kadri Ünalan (Keyboards, Guitar), Cemal Serezoğlu (Bass), Soner Özkan (Sax), İlter Yenişen (Trombone), Melih Çetiner (Drums). Later they had several appearances in Germany, Switzerland and Norway under the name “Family Singers”. In addition to Kadri, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 79, and Lamia (I heard that she died, too) played at Family Singers Şeref Boz (Drums), Metin Cengiz (Bass), Ali Boz (Sax) and Aldo Bangrazi (Sax). Below you can hear a live performance of a show in Switzerland.
